Pieces in my house

I am a little bit desperate to make my study corner more interesting.

But still look so boring... I tent to remove the table and make my study corner like a japanesse style. I dont know it works or not.

Honestly I like to put many cute little things in my book shelf though..

I bought this elephant when I went back to Indonesia and shop some pairs statue...

That statue I bought in one of the gallery that sell old pieces, the woods is old and I am not sure if treated, but so far I don't have any problem with termites and their friend.

The elephants I bought from garage sale in my condo lobby, and I have to fight with one lady to get it :)

And since my "tjanting" (tools for Batik painting) is no place, so I just put in that wodden bowl (well the bowl is empty)...

This is the replica from the old one..

I am so mad about frangipani painting. I have another small one in my bed room. Thats why my mood board also inspired by those flowers.

I bought this painting when I was in Bali... walking around in Legian street and found this pieces in one of the gallery...

But I shouldn't buy those color though, not really stand out when I put in my dafodile color wall.

oh and just let you know this is my water plant cum my dog water bowl ....:) and now it has new friend inside... my floating turtle... will take a picture and post it here...:)

Old China Cafe

Spending a nice wheather on Sunday (cloudy and windy complement with drizzling), we went for Sunday brunch at the place called Old Chinese Cafe. The place is literally OLD. Not made to replica an old place. They serve a Nyonya food and they also selling Antique...

The ambience is complete by the Chinese old song that they play...

There are plenty old picture on the wall that I guess been long time the wall never been painted...:)

And also old fridge that still functioned well. They keep softdrinks for guests to order.

I love the clock...

But the picture of the lady makes me a bit chilled... may be remind me of the Great great grandmother ( if she really look like somebody in that picture). But my husband has a Baba Nyonya blood, so his Great great grandmother likely will look like that lady :)

Here are our brunch...

We order Nyonya sotong petai sambal (squit and chilli), Pork curry devil ( it said a portugguise dish), and mix veggie wrap in the beancurd skin. And also Coconut white and blue rice. I am not really sure how the rice become blue... but it edible :)

oh... and also traditional cofffee is a MUST have after meal... smell good... but very strong ...absolutely good.

I enjoy the coffee and enjoy the atmosphere and old music...and of course great companion ( my hubby..:))

Since they selling antique furniture and we also looking a suitable chairs for our house, we found out what we like and still negotiable with the price... hopefully few days they will call us and match our budget...

I love the fan too... been looking for it quite sometime...if budget allow, I will consider that..

and my husband want of these doors to replace our bedroom door.. Need to save more..:)

Anyway... we have a pleasant sunday brunch... when we walk out and walk along the China town street... it is still drizziling... what a nice Sunday!!

Visit a temple

This is some picture that I tookd during my trip to Genting highland...

We visit a temple in the clift...

That's... only one of the building.... They put three statue to pray for the Budhist worshiper.

Eventhough this doors is still new ( I expect for much more older building...) but the workmanship goes to the details...

And.. while waiting for my friends prayed... I took this roof from the higher building...

Dragons are everywhere... I am not sure what dragon represent..but it always a nice sclupture of dragon in the most Budhist temples.

I saw many people hanging this unique inscent after praying.. this meant for offering to their Gods...

The view is over the mountain...those inscent are so lucky.. everyday seeing the green trees...

I wish I could see more trees from my window...

Private Coaching

I am seriously thinking about looking for a private coach... to help me discover what I really want in my life ha ha... sound pathetic... yeah true...

I am thinking a lot recently about quiting my job and start become an enterpreneur. I am sure I can.. ( confident.. confident)...

Been snooping and reading inspirational blog a loooooot... and really admire them. You can check in here to read many great blog.

Thinking alot to open a traditional massage place... calming... something ethnic.. but then need big capital that I cannot provide in the near time..

Over the weekend.. a friend of mine asking whether want to do online business selling her scrap book, hand made jewelry and beads and many other beautiful things...

I like pillow cussion... could spice up the ... event dulliest room.... thinking about that a lot.. ( to design).. ha ha..who knows... I like something do to with home and decor... but no formal academic background for that...

well... day dream.... but I belive in my own dream... start with it... make it true...

Today was very lazy when I woke up.. may be still in the weekend mood :)

And mood also not very good.. may be PMS... :)

I wish... monday more colorful..

Found out the picture in the flickr that could boast up my mood :)...

I love color... color make me active and warm...

Thinking to have some chairs paints should be nice... but those chairs only mean for patio... I dun have one ...

But good to think have one... :)

Weekend gateaway

This weekend my old friend who stay in Singapore will come to KL. And we plan to go to Genting highland for spending the weekend.

It has been a long time never has a holiday with old friend, even a short one. So I am very much looking forward this opportunity.

I remember last time my holiday with her was actually a business trip in Jakarta, but we managed to juggle our time between business and leasure or more shopping :p.

Actually this weekend is a very peak seasson, and all the hotel and resort ( the only resort in Genting highland) increased the price. I could not get any cheaper room beside stay in the resort, but we both (me and my girl friend) really looking forward for this short holiday together so we don't mind with the slightly higher prices. And as our hubbies just nod nod a sign of agreement he he..

I will write more ad post some pictures next week after my trip :)

Waroeng Made

Yesterday is a mother day, aparently mother day is a big day in Malaysia, unlike Indonesia. So me and my hubby bring my mother in law for good lunch. We went to place called Tanner, it is a small resto serving western food run my Australian (if I am not mistaken). It was a good food, good ambience, good housewine...

But I am not gonna talk about that.. he he.. suddenly when I enjoyed my food, I remember about one of my favorite resto in Bali. So I thought of sharing with all of you in this blog.

Everytime I went to Bali either with Friends or with hubby, I always like to give my self a time to dine in Waroeng Made. It just simply me... its tradition to spend time and enjoy the half nasi campur and half gado-gado.

Nasi campur is Indonesian spicy mix rice, the ingredient could be vary. Sometime they have chicken cooked with coconut souce and chili, stir vegetable, egg, etc.

Gado-gado is Indonesian assorted vegetable with peanut sauce. Sometime they add tofu and potato. The taste is mix between salty and a little bit spicy.

I found out that the Waroeng Made version for half nasi campur and half gado-gado is very creative. and the presentation is also very nice.

Overall the menu is nothing special, but the way they package it makes special.

There are two branches in Bali, one is in legian -Kuta, it is the first branches actually, The place consider small and conjusted that many people like to dine there because location wise. The interior is contemporary baliness design, with many rough wood dingklik (stool).

But since they expand another branch in Seminyak, I prefer to go to the Seminyak one. It is more spacious and airy. Also they have alfreso, that people could enjoy the outdoor atmosphere. And also entertained by the small indie boutique selling unique collection of apparel and accesories suround the alfreso.

I strongly suggest whoever visit Bali, should drop by to Waroeng Made to enjoy the simply menu but delicious that they have and also the strong Balinese atmosphere.
